National Poetry Day

16 Oct 2024
Sutton Grammar School

National Poetry Day was on Thursday, 3 October and this year's theme was 'Counting'.  To celebrate, we asked students to come up with their own Fibonacci poems (where the number of syllables in each line follows the Fibonacci sequence 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8).  More than 50 students entered, from every year group, and it was very difficult to choose the winners from so many excellent poems.  Students can read a selection of entries on the Creative Writing Board outside room 9, including the winning poems from:

Ashwin 7T

Abiran 12A

Christian 12D

Carlie 12A

Aaron 11T

Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to everyone who took part!
