DofE Season Draws to an end

18 Oct 2024
Sutton Grammar School

The final Bronze and Silver expeditions for DofE went out this half term.  45 Year 11 Silver students did their practice and qualifying expeditions in the South Downs and the Chilterns, and the final small tranche of nearly the entire year group of the current Year 10s (who all signed up in Year 9) completed their qualifier in Dorset just this weekend.  It is always good to hear praise for SGS boys - one passer-by stopped an instructor to commend them on their politeness in the recent Silver expedition - and they did all pull together well to complete their expeditions.  Many thanks to the small number of school staff who were able to help them do this.  Let’s hope we can keep up the voracious demand of our students. Mr M Turner is already working on the forthcoming year's programme. Here's to the 2025 group of expeditionary enthusiasts!
