On Wednesday 25th March 2026, Year 11 and Year 12 French students attended a study day at the Institut Français in South Kensington. The day was designed to provide both linguistic and cultural immersion, helping to extend our understanding of French language and culture.

Throughout the day, we took part in activities aimed at improving our French, particularly focusing on vocabulary related to cuisine. These sessions were engaging and practical, giving us useful language that could be applied in real-life contexts.

A key highlight of the visit was watching the film À la belle étoile. The film was deeply moving and inspiring, offering insight into French culture while also challenging our listening skills. It was a valuable experience to engage with authentic French media in a cinema setting.

Overall, the study day was both enjoyable and educational. It provided a unique opportunity to develop our language skills outside the classroom while also gaining a deeper appreciation of francophone culture.
