Outstanding Achievement in A-level Computer Science

14 Oct 2025
Sutton Grammar School

We are proud to celebrate the exceptional success of three Sutton Grammar students – Sirius Chan, Ishaan Gupta, and Luca Ciripitca – from the 2025 A-Level Computer Science cohort.

All three students achieved an A* grade in AQA Computer Science, a remarkable accomplishment considering that only 5.9% of the 5,500 students nationally reached this grade. This is nearly 40% lower than the next STEM subject, Biology, highlighting just how challenging Computer Science is at A-Level.

Even more impressively, Sirius, Ishaan and Luca placed in the top 100 students nationally for AQA Computer Science, a distinction awarded by Netcraft, which recognises the highest-performing students each year.

Their achievement reflects not only exceptional intellect and dedication over two years of study, but also the spirit of excellence that defines Sutton Grammar. They are an inspiration to future cohorts and a testament to the strength of our Computer Science department.

Congratulations to Sirius, Ishaan and Luca.
