SGS sent two Junior Chess Teams consisting of Year 7 and 8 pupils to the regional qualifier in Whitgift on Wednesday, 21 January. 

Team A came first place, dominating play by thrashing all their opponents. Whilst Team B came mid table, admirably holding their own against a tough field.

Well done to the students who took part in this tournament but especially to the first place winners who will now progress to the final in April: Ashwath (y7); Rehaan (y7); Noah (y8); Christos (y8).
