Sutton Grammar School are delighted to share the launch of The Suttonian Foundation, an initiative to build an inclusive professional network connecting students, parents, and alumni for the benefit of our school. The Foundation’s aim is to strengthen the bonds across our community, supporting alumni in their careers and empowering current students with valuable opportunities. 

Many alumni have a deep connection to the school, and we want to match that commitment with more regular and professional engagement. The Suttonian Foundation, supported by our new Development Office, will ensure alumni receive regular updates on school news, events, and publications such as The Suttonian. 

Alumni may already be familiar with the Old Suttonians’ Association (OSA). To clarify, the OSA continues to oversee the various sports clubs and associations, and organises social events from time to time. The Suttonian Foundation, by contrast, is focused on creating a professional network for students and alumni. The two entities are distinct but will work closely together, each serving a different but complementary role within the school community. 

By developing a structured alumni programme, we can unlock opportunities that reflect the calibre of our Old Suttonian community. Whether it is mentoring from experienced professionals, insight into different industries, or career development opportunities, the Foundation will help ensure that a Sutton Grammar School education continues to open doors long after graduation. 

This network is for everyone, regardless of your career stage or experience. You are already part of it as an Old Suttonian. There is no membership, with access to all Foundation activities, including networking events, mentoring, and career initiatives.

- Spread the Word: Help us grow the network by sharing this page 

- Host a Careers Event: Could you or your firm host a networking evening or employability day for alumni and current students? Please get in touch. 

- Become a Trustee: Could your skills help shape the future of the Foundation? If so, send us your LinkedIn/CV and a short note on your interest. We are particularly keen to hear from finance professionals interested in becoming the Foundation’s Treasurer.  

- Donate to Double Your Impact: Like many state schools, Sutton Grammar has faced real-terms cuts to government funding and rising costs, limiting its ability to invest in extra-curricular activities. The Development Office will be fully funded by voluntary contributions and thanks to a generous pledge of £40k from our PTA. All donations made in the next 12 months will be doubled, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the school. Please consider donating easily via this link.
