On 6th May, the current Y13s took their first, tentative steps into life after SGS. Just prior to beginning their pivotal public exams, they were able to let their hair down somewhat in a series of events at school.
In their last two days at school, they attended school in themed mufti: meme mufti went over the heads of most staff whilst ‘anything but a bag’ did produce some amusing ways of transporting their school books, including school books pegged to a mini washing line.
Their school days proper ended with a bouncy castle assault course extravaganza at Northey. Clad in their school uniform from days gone by, Y13 had a fun-filled day of high jinks on the hallowed Northey turf, all topped off with Papa Johns (other takeaway pizzas are available) and an ice cream van. At the end of June, they have another goodbye at their formal Leavers Dinner in the marquee at Northey, with a record turnout of students and staff this year. There'll be live music, speeches and, of course, classic anecodotes from Mr Blunt.
We, of course, hope that they stay in touch and this is merely the beginning of a new chapter as a Suttonian.
Suttonians of years gone by - how did you mark your final days at school? We'd love to hear your memories of the day...
