Old Sutts Football Club Season Update

OSFC is still thriving as a football club with 6 teams playing every Saturday across the Southern Amateur League. The club as a whole can be proud of their efforts so far this season and there is still a lot to play for across the club. Still closely linked to the school, Suttonians can be seen playing in all the teams, with current senior school players often turning out in red and white when they have no SGS fixture.

We welcome you to come down to Northey on a Saturday afternoon as a supporter or if you feel like dusting off your boots, there is plenty of spaces to accommodate you across all the teams.

Here’s a quick run-down of each side’s fortunes this year.  Full details of all the teams league positions can be found here: OSFC 25/26

1st XI

The 1s go into the end of season run in with all to play for in the league. Though their league position may not look the best on paper, deep runs into the semi–finals across all three cups have left them with a lot football still to be played and still in the title hunt.

Current League Position: 7th out of 8

AFA Cup: Semi-Final

Old boys Cup: Semi-Final

SAL Cup: Semi-Final

2nd XI

With not much progression in the cups, the 2s have endured a stable season in division 5. No threat of relegation nor promotion but a real question of what could have been, as they have battled through the season with injury and availability issues.

Current League Position: 5th out of 10

AFA Cup: Ko. Preliminary Round

Old boys Cup: Ko. Round of 32

SAL Cup: Ko. Preliminary Round

3rd XI

The 3s currently top the league table but the 2nd placed team are chasing with games in hand. It's been another strong season for the 3s league-wise and with promotion guaranteed, it’s a question of whether they can bring home more silverware to the Owl’s Nest.

Current League Position: 1st out of 10

AFA Cup: Ko. Round of 32

Old boys Cup: Ko. Round of 16

SAL Cup: Ko. Preliminary Round

4th XI

The 4s proved that swapping with the 5s at the beginning of the season was the right decision as they have had a steady season this year. Nothing major to report on but we are sure they will be looking to kick on up the table next season.

Current League Position: 6th out of 10

AFA Cup: Ko. Round of 32

Old boys Cup: Ko. Round of 32

SAL Cup: Ko. Round of 16

5th XI

The 5s see themselves comfortably holding down the fort in midtable and if results go their way a top three finish is very much on the cards.

Current League Position: 6th out of 10

AFA Cup: Ko. Round of 16

Old boys Cup: Ko. Round of 16

SAL Cup: Ko. Preliminary Round

6th XI

Current League Position: 3rd out of 10

AFA Cup: Winners

Old boys Cup: Finalists

SAL Cup: Winners

The 6s have had another strong season in this being their second season together. Both the AFA and SAL cups have been brought home in recent weeks but for them the job is very much not finished. A third cup final of the season awaits them this Saturday and they very much have the league title in their sights, aiming for an unprecedented Sutts quadruple.
