On Tuesday 16th December, the School held its 126th Senior Prize giving ceremony. The great and good of SGS were in attendance and watched on as our remarkable young students received awards for both their academic and extracurricular excellence.
At this year’s Senior Prize Giving, we were privileged to hear a truly touching and thought-provoking speech from Azeem Lalani (OS 1995–2003).
Drawing on his school experience, including his struggles and how he has gone on to have a very successful career, Azeem offered his valuable wisdom to our young people.
People often forget the words of a speech, but they always remember how it made them feel—and Azeem’s message left everyone feeling valued and inspired:
Azeem’s words reminded us that success is not just about personal achievement, but about gratitude, resilience and generosity.
The event is always a fantastic occasion for SGS families to get together and it was particularly lovely to see our most recent Leavers return and regale us with tales of their new adventures, whilst they catch up with what has changed at school (and all that remains the same!), since they left in the summer.
