On Monday, 18 March, all of Year 7 and 8 gathered in the hall to be entertained with renditions of poetry.
Over the course of the last few weeks, every student in Year 7 and 8 has learnt a poem by heart to be in with a chance of going through to this assembly final and be selected for the national Poetry By Heart final. Our semi-finalists were:
Year 8: Toby Atkinson; Anish Mandal; Noah Abraham; Vedant Hiremath; Ryan Knauer
Year 7: Ali Richards; Jeremy Koplin; Krish Mohan; Arjun Senthilkumar; Sri Jeyaseelan; Jayesh Prabhuram
All put on an admirable performances, and not a single one stumbled in front of our formidable judging panel. As a result, there was a bit of an argument on the judging team but a final two for each year group finally emerged victorious:
Year 8 - Vedant Hiremath and Toby Atkinson
Year 7- Arjun Senthikumar and Ali Richards
A huge well done to all the students who competed and the very best of luck to Vedant and Arjun whose entries will now be judged externally to see whether they make it to the Poetry By Heart final!
