NHS Careers Day

18 Jun 2026
Sutton Grammar School

Year 9 students were inspired and energised during an exciting NHS Careers Day held on 17th July 2026. Volunteers from NHS St Helier Hospital visited the school to showcase the wide range of rewarding career pathways available within the health sector, helping to broaden students’ horizons and challenge their perceptions of future opportunities.

Students had the opportunity to hear first-hand from dedicated professionals, including a doctor, nurse, radiographer, and other healthcare staff, each sharing their unique journeys and day-to-day experiences. The sessions were engaging and interactive, allowing students to ask questions and gain valuable insight into the skills, qualifications, and personal qualities needed to succeed in different NHS roles.

The event was a fantastic success, sparking curiosity and ambition among the Year 9 boys, and highlighting the vital and varied work carried out within the NHS. It was an inspiring day that encouraged students to think more broadly about their futures and consider careers that make a real difference to people’s lives.
