Sixth‑Form Success in the Perse Goldrush Coding Challenge

24 Apr 2026
Sutton Grammar School

A number of our sixth‑form Computer Science students have enjoyed success in the Perse Coding Challenge – Goldrush, a nationally recognised competition that tests advanced problem‑solving, algorithmic thinking and perseverance under pressure.

Goldrush presents students with a series of demanding coding puzzles, requiring both technical skill and strategic thinking. The questions are deliberately challenging and reward students who can combine clean, efficient code with careful reasoning, skills that are essential for both further study and careers in computer science, mathematics and related fields.

I am delighted to share the strong performance achieved by Sutton Grammar School students:

Zakary B (13 B)– Top 20%

Ali Yousuf S (12 ET) – Top 20%

Nathan L (12 ET) – Top 40%

Hailey N (13 B)– Top 40%

Joshua S (12 A)– Top 40%

James D (12 E)– Top 60%

Aidan H (12 GA)– Top 60%

Kristy H (12 GA)– Top 60%

Agastya S (12 Z) – Participation

William T (12 Z) – Participation

A special mention must go to Zakary Boukhaima and Ali Yousuf Sheikh, who both achieved results in the top twenty per cent nationally. As a result of this exceptional performance, they will be receiving a prize from Jane Street, one of the world’s leading quantitative trading firms.
