Year 9 Students Take on the Cyber Explorers Challenge

In March, a group of Year 9 Computer Science students from Sutton Grammar School took part in the Government’s Cyber Explorers competition, a national initiative designed to introduce young people to the world of cyber security and digital problem solving.

Cyber Explorers challenges students to think like cyber professionals, working through a series of increasingly demanding tasks that test skills such as logical reasoning, resilience, attention to detail and an understanding of how digital systems can be protected. The competition is not only academically rigorous but also provides a valuable insight into the types of skills and thinking required for future careers in technology and cyber security.

I am delighted to report that Ryan R and Sebastian C of 9 Greyhound performed exceptionally well by achieving outstanding results, exceeding the competition’s already demanding expectations, and demonstrating impressive levels of determination and technical ability.

Ryan and Sebastian have earned a Cyber Squad Certificate. This certificate is SCQF credit rated, meaning they are recognised qualifications, and represent a significant achievement at this stage in his education. Well done, Ryan and Sebastian!
