On Wednesday,14 January, just as Year 10 were beating Richard Challoner at basketball, a large group of SGS Year 11s descended on Bromley Town Centre.   After a customary Nando’s, all sixty-one students managed to collect their Blood Brothers ticket in time for the show - and what a show it was!   Bromley’s Churchill Theatre is well known for its excellent acoustics, and this was certainly the case here, with some brilliant wind and string performances - not forgetting the conductor who switched between conducting and keyboard playing.   After almost 50 years of performances, this award-winning musical (and set text for GCSE English Literature) is now so polished that you can’t help being mesmerised by everything on stage - and as usual everyone stood for the well-deserved standing ovation at the end.
