SGS Economics - Three economists agree with each other!

Our Head of Economics, Ms Leonie Francis, recently met with both her immediate predecessor, Mr Nigel Bartlett (left: Head of Dept. 2008 to 2024) and his immediate predecessor, Mr Alan Fearnley (right: Head of Dept. 1986 to 1990  and 2000 to 2008) to share their experiences of running the department and to reflect on the changes in economics teaching more generally, over the past four decades.

The three colleagues concurred that, whilst it was frustrating that students' hard work on the A level course was not always adequately recognised by university economics departments, nevertheless, it was gratifying that choosing to study on an economics undergraduate course remains a very popular career progression for SGS Sixth Formers.
