Giving Back: Alumna Nivea Makinde Supports SGS Law Society Students

In 2021, Nivea Makinde was the recipient of the Chipps Memorial Bursary: the school's annual prize for the top student going on to study law at university. Since then, she has been awarded a first class honours degree in law, from the University of Nottingham, and she has passed the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations 1 & 2.  Next March, Nivea will begin two years of Qualifying Work Experience, with the international law firm Ashurst, before qualifying as a solicitor.

Earlier this term, Nivea returned to SGS to share with current members of the school's Law Society her experiences of building a career in the law and, specifically, to assist the students with their preparation for Oxbridge law interviews.  A wide range of questions were tackled during the session and, overall, the afternoon was considered to have been very informative for the students.

The school is extremely grateful to all its former students who give so generously of their time and expertise to help current students.
