A team of Year 12 students from Sutton Grammar School has triumphed in the prestigious Davidson Inventors Challenge 2025, hosted by the University of Cambridge’s Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.

The winning team – the H2O Visionaries, made up of Waseef Rehman, Manas Phade and Srikar Praveen – impressed judges with their innovative modular water filtration system. Designed to tackle global freshwater contamination, their solution adapts to different pollutants using physical, chemical, or biological filtration methods, making it both scalable and sustainable.

The students’ project stood out for its scientific rigour, practical application, and clear alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Judges praised their thorough research and experimental validation, while their mentor highlighted their deep understanding of the challenge.

This outstanding achievement reflects the team’s creativity, collaboration, and commitment to solving real-world problems through STEM. Sutton Grammar is incredibly proud of their success and looks forward to seeing their future innovations.
