On Tuesday, 1 October 2024, around 160 Sixth Form students participated in the prestigious Senior Mathematical Challenge organized by the UK Maths Trust. This competition features a series of challenging problems designed to stimulate critical thinking among students in Year 13 and below.

We are proud to announce that our students excelled in this year’s challenge! The top 66 per cent of participants were awarded with Bronze, Silver, and Gold certificates in a ratio of 3:2:1. Notably, 36 per cent of our students earned Gold certificates, 41 per cent received Silver, and 19 per cent achieved Bronze, showcasing the exceptional mathematical talent within our school.

Furthermore, we celebrate the achievements of 54 students who qualified for the follow-on round, the Andrew Jobbings Senior Kangaroo, while five students advanced to the British Maths Olympiad Round 1. Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and dedication! We look forward to seeing even more successes in the future.
