The run-in for the House Shield is very much under way as we approach the final half term. Last year's champions Warwick have had a strong year, though in recent weeks the pace of their points accumulation has slowed to a worryling slouch.
As House Chess results came in last week, a dominating performance from Manor saw them rack up 17 out of a possible 20 points. But it is Throwley who steal the headlines who have steadily and consistently picked up points in recent weeks to see them head into the final furlong with a slender lead. Can Throwley, who have never won the shield in their seven year history, cling on for a maiden title?
All will be revealed come the end of July.
Current standings
Throwley - 148.5
Warwick - 147
Manor - 128
Lenham - 120
Greyhound - 118.5
