Angela Rayner meets SGS politics student

17 May 2024
Sutton Grammar School

The bias of meetings for SGS politics students tends perhaps to be a bit more Conservative than anything else, thanks in no small measure to the generosity of OSA Chairman Martin Armstrong.  So it's good to report a little bit of balance, with Mark O'Sullivan getting a few tips on a future political career from none other than Labour's Deputy Leader Angela Rayner (and, dare one say it, very likely the next Deputy PM).  It wasn't a formal meeting, as befits Ms Rayner's reputation.  Mark saw her at a motorway service station on the way back from a CCF recce, and on approaching her was given a quick test on his political knowledge followed by some useful advice as to his future political career.

Much thanks to Angela Rayner for responding with grace and cheerfulness to a random conversation in the middle of a busy day!
